Yup, that’s my flag, too.

The rattlesnake featured in the Gadsden flag was a symbol of the unity of the thirteen colonies at the start of the Revolutionary War, and the Gadsden flag was intended to represent the ideals of the American Revolution—an escape from forced religion and the freedoms of a new democratic nation, conceived in liberty.

Various groups have appropriated the Gadsden flag to wrongly represent their own ideas...including the political left in the ’70s; the far right in support of the violent attack against the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021; and domestic terrorists who killed three people in 2014, including two Las Vegas police officers.

All American flags represent the American ideals of individual freedoms, including free speech, a free press, and the freedom to choose our own beliefs without government interference.

Don’t tread on those founding principles.
